While our formal programs are in development, we are actively working through community assessments, local partnerships, and strategic planning to ensure future initiatives are inclusive, sustainable, and tailored to the needs of Afghanistan’s children, youth, women, and vulnerable communities.

Why Education in Afghanistan Needs Urgent Action
4.2 million children are out of school; 60% of them are girls.
90% of Afghan youth have no access to science, digital, or STEM education.
2.5 million girls are banned from attending secondary school (UNICEF, 2024).
Poverty, displacement, and conflict have erased decades of progress.
Educators and students alike face trauma, instability, and isolation.
Education in Afghanistan is facing one of its most urgent crises. These challenges threaten not only Afghan lives, but the very future of the nation.

Current Status: Laying the Groundwork
Though full-scale programs are not yet launched, our team is actively building the foundation for impactful education interventions by:
Conducting community-level education assessments in partnership with elders, local Shuras, school officials, and women’s groups.
Collaborating with local education departments and the Ministry of Education to identify urgent gaps.
Consulting with displaced communities, out-of-school youth, and women’s cooperatives to understand their learning needs.
Mapping geographic areas for future learning hubs, teacher recruitment, and safe education spaces.
Engaging religious and community leaders to secure support for future initiatives.
Exploring innovative models such as mobile schools, digital learning, and vocational training.
This groundwork is essential to design responsive, community-owned solutions tailored to each region’s unique needs.

What’s Next
Our current priority is gathering accurate, community-level data to guide effective, targeted programs. Compassionate Afghanistan is seeking partnerships, resources, and technical expertise to launch pilot education projects in 2025.
