In Afghanistan, education is not just a service. It is a lifeline. Yet millions of children are out of school, and girls are systematically denied access to learning beyond sixth grade. Without education, families remain trapped in poverty. Without skills, youth have no path to employment. Without opportunity, communities cannot rebuild.

Compassionate Afghanistan was founded to address this gap. We work with communities to create learning opportunities for those who are excluded, not as an act of charity, but as a commitment to dignity and the right to build a future.

We provide access to education, skills training, and youth development programs in underserved and crisis-affected areas.

Skills

We deliver practical, market-relevant training in digital literacy, freelancing, and income-generating activities. These are not just skills. They are pathways to self-reliance.

Youth Development

We engage young people as leaders and change-makers in their communities. We build their confidence, capacity, and voice.

Education

We support community-based schools, learning centers, and digital education platforms. Our focus is on children and youth who cannot access formal education, especially girls.

Our Impact

Child-Friendly Space – Kunar Earthquake Response (2025)

During the Kunar earthquake response, CASDHO established a child-friendly space for 165 traumatized children. Through drawing, games, and structured play, children began to heal from the shock and grief they experienced. This was part of our integrated emergency response, combining health services with psychosocial support.

Digital Skills Workshop – Leveraging AI for Productivity (2025)

A remote pilot trained 28 women and girls from 5 provinces in AI tools, prompt engineering, and digital content creation. Participants moved from absolute beginners to active digital creators. Some are now exploring freelancing and online work.

Provided educational materials to children in returnee families, supporting their re-integration into learning.

Children's Book Club

Online reading and discussion sessions for children and youth, fostering literacy and critical thinking.

Our Initiatives

Our initiatives are designed to meet immediate needs while building foundations for the future. Through education, skills, and youth development, we create pathways to learning, income, and resilience for communities across Afghanistan.

Digital Skills Workforce Development Program

Millions of young women and girls in Afghanistan remain at home with limited opportunities for education or employment. This program provides a practical pathway, remote digital skills training that enables them to work from home, earn an income, and support their families. Participants gain market-relevant skills in freelancing, AI tools, and online platforms, allowing them to contribute economically while staying within their home environment. It fosters self-reliance, dignity, and economic resilience. Prioritizing women and girls, this program is ready to scale and we are seeking collaboration with partners and donors to implement it.

270 girls from six villages in Kunar are studying in a mosque and its veranda. Overlapping classes and lack of proper facilities hinder their education. They need a proper school building, learning materials, and basic utilities. This initiative will enable these girls to continue their education and build a future. Access to quality education will help nurture a new generation of capable young women who can serve their communities and the nation. We are seeking partners and donors to support this effort.

A Smile That Says Everything

When our team met Zahra and Mahdi in Mazar-e-Sharif, they had just returned from Iran with nothing. No home. No school. No hope.

We gave them school bags, books, stationery, and new clothes.

When they held these items, they smiled, not because of what they received, but because someone showed them they mattered.

In a country where girls are banned from education, every book is a statement. Every smile is a reminder of why we do this work.

Nargis's Story: A Laptop, a Skill, and a Future

Nargis was one of the participants. She had never used AI before. She had no idea how to build a website or create a digital portfolio. But she was determined. With the skills she gained, she is now setting up her own online business platform. She is learning web design and exploring freelancing on Fiverr. She says:

“This workshop opened a pathway for me. The team’s support, encouragement, and the resources they provided put me in a position to build something for myself. I now have a skill. I have hope. Thank you, Compassionate Afghanistan, for standing with us.”
